SMS Communications & Consent

If you provide your phone number and opt in to SMS communications, Handturned may send you text messages in two categories:

Transactional SMS: Maker match confirmations, order status updates, and messages directly related to a service you have initiated. These are sent in connection with your active inquiry only.
Promotional SMS: Availability updates, seasonal reminders, and re-engagement messages. These are sent only with your separate, explicit opt-in consent.

SMS consent is never a condition of service. You may submit an inquiry and receive a woodturner match without opting in to any SMS communications. Opting out of SMS at any time will not affect your order or your access to Handturned's services.

To opt out of SMS at any time, reply STOP to any message from Handturned. You will receive one final confirmation and no further messages. To resume, text START. For help, text HELP.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on your inquiry status and consent preferences.

How We Share Your Information

Handturned shares your personal information only in the following limited circumstances:

With your matched woodturner: Your inquiry details, preferences, pet information, and contact information are shared with the woodturner assigned to your commission so they can contact you and fulfill your order.
With service providers: We use third-party tools to operate our business (such as form processing, email delivery, and analytics). These providers process data only on our behalf and are contractually prohibited from using it for their own purposes.
As required by law: We may disclose information when required by applicable law, regulation, or legal process.

We do not sell your personal information. Handturned does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information — including your phone number and SMS opt-in status — to any third party for their own marketing or commercial purposes. Ever.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including completing your commission, responding to any follow-up inquiries, and complying with our legal obligations.

If you have not placed an order and wish to have your information removed from our records, contact us at the address in Section 9 and we will delete your data within 30 days.
